This game requires a lot of preplanned strategy for the disposal of the vital key ball. One has to play carefully and if possible try to ensure that the front pocket rather than the side pocket is used for the disposal of the key ball.
This version of pool, Last Pocket Eight Ball was devised so that it slows down the game, especially on the tables operated on coin basis and where a player pays on a per game basis instead of the per hour basis. If a situation arises, where a player must put the ball into the side pocket, rather than the front one, the game may take 15 or more minutes depending on the skill of the player. If neither of the players is able to get the key ball in, the game is settled by a multi-rail bank shot or even a multi rail missed shot in some cases!
